I am so excited to share our beautiful project on Daniel Island, Island Escape. Our clients relocated to the area and were looking for a completely new, bright and light home design to fit their new life in the lowcountry. We incorporated woven elements, beaded fixtures, blue wallpapers and white linens for the ultimate coastal luxurious feel. We designed the majority of the rooms in the home making for a cohesive look throughout while keeping a unique feel for each space.
I love how the first floor of the home is an open floor plan. While standing it the kitchen, the room is open to the main dining and living areas. We separated the spaces while keeping an organic flow throughout. To achieve the "Megan Molten look" we often use elements such as glass pendants, woven counter stools and greenery. My absolute favorite touch to complete a kitchen is a large vase full of fresh flowers, palms cut straight from the yard or faux greenery. We often pair an arrangement with a tray, candle and welcome beads. We used a natural wood dining table to continue to causal feel into the dining area and softened the look with our favorite white linen dining chairs. From the dining room, you enter into the living room which we completed with a soft rug with hints of blue, accent pillows for their existing sectional, a beautiful piece of coastal artwork, glass lamps, a marble side table and lastly a natural wood circular coffee table. We complete the coffee table with accessories to bring in more of the coastal, causal and inviting feel.
When designing projects in Charleston and the surrounding areas I bring in pieces from local artists and makers to create a curated, true to the area feel for the home. Some highlights from this project are ~ the commissioned Chelsea Goer driftwood painting in the family room which compliments the indigo seagrass wallpaper, the Emily Daws pillows on the living room sectional and the bench seat on the landing of the stairwell and the stunning Rebecca Atwood wallpaper ceiling in the office and master bedroom nook.

Before and after photos are always fun to look back on as they show how we brought our design from concept to execution in each space. This home had everything we love ~ big white walls, lots of natural light and a great layout. We couldn't wait to bring in all of the elements to make the house personalized and unique. Take a look at how this home came to life with the implementation of our design:
