The Back-to-Routine Refresh: Simple Ways to Reset Your Home

July 16, 2026

There is something about the end of summer that always makes me ready for a little reset. The slower summer days start to wind down, calendars fill back up, school starts, and suddenly we are all craving a little more routine.

You definitely do not need to completely redesign your home to get that fresh-start feeling. A few small changes can make your spaces feel more organized, inspiring, and ready for the season ahead.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to give your home a back-to-routine refresh.

Refresh Your Workspace

Whether you work from home every day or just need a spot to tackle emails, schedules, and the never-ending to-do list, having a workspace you actually enjoy makes such a difference.

Start by clearing everything off your desk and only bringing back what you really use. Then add a few things that make the space feel intentional. A pretty tray, decorative object, framed photo, or small vase can instantly make a functional space feel more like part of your home.

Don’t forget about the wall behind your desk either. Art is one of my favorite ways to give a workspace personality without adding more clutter to the actual work surface.

Give Everything a Home

One of the easiest ways to make your home feel calmer is simply having a place for all of the little things.

I love using decorative trays, boxes, and baskets throughout a home. They keep everyday items contained while still looking beautiful. Use a tray for keys and sunglasses near the door, a decorative box for chargers and cords, or a basket for the things that always seem to accumulate throughout the week.

Organization does not have to mean hiding everything away. The right pieces can actually become part of your decor.

Make the Everyday Feel Special

I am a big believer that the things we use every single day should be beautiful too.

Even something as simple as refreshing your kitchen or bathroom products can make getting back into a routine feel a little more enjoyable. The Blushed Bergamot Multipurpose Cleaner is one of those little luxuries that makes an everyday task feel more elevated.

A pretty soap, fresh hand towels, and a clean countertop can completely change how a kitchen or bathroom feels without requiring a major update.

Create a Better Getting-Ready Space

Busy mornings are so much easier when you have a designated place to get ready.

A beautiful full-length mirror is both functional and a major design moment. I love the Candice Dressing Room Mirror because an oversized mirror can make a room feel larger, brighter, and more finished while still serving a purpose.

Style it in a bedroom, dressing area, or even at the end of a hallway with a small stool, basket, or piece of greenery nearby.

Add Something That Inspires You

Sometimes the best refresh is simply adding something you love.

A new piece of art can change the entire feeling of a room. Move artwork around, fill the blank wall you have been ignoring, or choose something completely unexpected.

The Megan Molten wall decor collection has everything from smaller pieces that are easy to layer to statement artwork and mirrors, so there are options whether you are refreshing one little corner or an entire room.

Start Fresh

A new season does not always require a big transformation. Sometimes clearing the clutter, getting organized, and adding a few beautiful details is all you need.

As schedules get busier again, I want home to be the place that feels calm, collected, and completely yours.

Here’s to fresh spaces, fresh routines, and a fresh start.

XO,
Megan
