As I look back on 2025, I’m incredibly grateful for the conversations, collaborations, and recognition that shaped this year. From weighing in on national design trends to sharing deeply personal projects and being honored by the industry, this year felt like a full-circle moment—one rooted in creativity, curiosity, and growth.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights from the year in press.

Designers Unlock the Impact of Pantone’s 2026 Color of the Year
When Pantone announced its 2026 Color of the Year, many designers responded diplomatically. I… did not.
I was candid in sharing that the selection felt like a missed opportunity—especially at a time when people are craving joy, personality, and bold expression in their homes. As I shared with Forbes, clients are embracing color like never before, and that sentiment echoed across the industry.
That belief showed up repeatedly throughout the year.

7 Living Room Trends Designers Expect To Take Over In 2026

Then came burgundy. Rich, moody, and timeless, it became our fall and winter obsession. I’ve been calling it the new red—and if you’ve followed along since September, you already know this wasn’t exactly a surprise. Burgundy paired with pink? Playful, feminine, and strong. Always yes.

7 Outdated Cabinet Colors Designers Are Leaving Behind in 2026
Let’s clear something up: white kitchens will always be classic. But for us, 2025 was the year of having more fun. I shared my honest fatigue with white-on-white kitchens and our studio’s commitment to embracing color—blue, green, coral, pink, purple… nothing is off-limits.

This Is What a $369,000 Backyard Remodel Looks Like
This one was personal.
The WSJ Off Duty cover story spotlighted our Mount Pleasant backyard renovation—a space that started as a gray, uninspiring patch of dirt and became our family’s second living room. Inspired by a babymoon trip to Palm Springs, the project was about more than resale value (though the ROI doesn’t hurt). It was about creating a place for connection, hosting, play, and everyday joy.
“If you want to be home, and love hosting, get a pool. Everyone will come.”
Still true.

22 Shower Tile Ideas That Wow
Our Funky Folly project made an appearance here, and it perfectly captured something I love: bold choices that still feel intentional. Large-scale slabs paired with smaller patterns, asymmetrical forms, and green marble carried all the way to the ceiling—because if you’re going to do it, do it.
“Maximalism for the win” still stands.

How Designers Are Reimagining Romantic Canopy Beds, Even in Tiny Bedrooms
Even without a direct quote, this feature used imagery from our work—highlighting my long-standing love for canopy beds. They add instant romance, structure, and drama, regardless of room size. Proof that sometimes the visuals really do speak for themselves.

The Designer’s Guide to High Point Market Parties and Programming
Markets have played a pivotal role in growing my business—from sourcing and trend forecasting to relationship-building and education. Being named an Andmore Market Pro and participating in High Point Market programming reinforced something I’ve long believed: markets are where inspiration turns into opportunity.
From showroom tours to lighting panels alongside designers I deeply admire, these moments weren’t just about visibility—they were about sharing knowledge and encouraging others to build businesses rooted in connection and curiosity.
2025 was a year of bold opinions, meaningful projects, colorful risks, and industry moments I don’t take lightly. I’m grateful to every editor, partner, client, and reader who helped shape these conversations.
Here’s to designing forward—while staying grounded in what feels personal, joyful, and timeless.
