3 Rooms, 3 Rugs, 1 Brand: How Stanton Completed the Vision

May 20, 2025

We always say the details make the design—and in this Mount Pleasant home, the rugs did exactly that. Part of our biggest collaboration yet (yes, the Lilly Pulitzer x Lee Jofa house!), this project is full of vibrant color, coastal charm, and the essence of Lowcountry luxury. It’s home to a beautiful young family with two daughters, and every decision we made reflects how they live—playfully, gracefully, and with ease.

When it came time to ground the design—literally—we turned to one of our go-to brands: Stanton Carpet. Their rugs are stunning, durable, and versatile. Whether you’re looking for custom or quick-ship options, Stanton offers something for every space. We’re so excited to partner with them for this install.

Sourcing with Intention

We kicked things off with a sourcing trip to our longtime friends at Palmetto Flooring in Mount Pleasant. Their team is the best, and they always have a beautiful range of samples to sift through. Stanton’s offering includes pre-sized rugs (great for quick-ship needs) and fully customizable options, which gave us flexibility across three very different spaces: The Office, the Primary Suite, and the Stair Runner (three flights!)

After reviewing our design palette and space needs, we landed on three rugs that felt just right:

Tatianna for the Office. Ditto for the Primary Suite. Classic Link for the Stairs.

Each one brought something different to the table—masculinity, softness, structure—but all carried that unmistakable Stanton quality.

Designing the Look

This house has range, y’all.

The Primary Suite is calm and serene, layered in soft blues and airy neutrals. We wanted a rug that wouldn’t overpower the space but still felt luxurious underfoot. Enter: Ditto. Cozy, subtle, and elegant. We ordered it in a custom size to fit the room just right.

The Stairwell features a bold pink grasscloth wallpaper—an absolute showstopper. We needed a rug that could hold its own without competing with that gorgeous wall texture. Classic Link (a fresh take on a Greek key pattern) felt both timeless and unexpected. As a bonus, it’s wool—naturally dirt-resistant and incredibly durable. Perfect for a high-traffic zone.

The Office is moody and masculine—dark walls, layered textures, and a tailored vibe. We chose Tatianna, a rich, hand-loomed rug with tons of presence. This one came in a standard size, and it anchored the space perfectly.

Installation Day

First up? The stair runner. Installation requires precision and experience—especially across multiple flights. That’s why we always call Ruben, our trusted installer, who brought the Classic Link pattern to life beautifully. We had one hiccup with a landing measurement (it happens!), but Palmetto Flooring came through fast with a solution. Dream team.

We’re big believers in stair runners for families with young kids. A little traction goes a long way. In a high-traffic zone like this, safety, softness, and style all matter—and Stanton delivers on all three.

While the stair runner was installed first, the Ditto and Tatianna rugs arrived just in time for the final styling phase. We had a no-shoes policy in place throughout the install to protect the pristine wool and keep the entire home reveal-ready.

The Final Reveal

The moment everything came together felt like magic. These three rugs—each so different—worked in harmony to complete the design story of this home. Stanton’s wool construction gave us the beauty and durability we needed. These pieces feel luxe, grounded, and lasting.

We’re so grateful to our partners at Stanton and Palmetto Flooring for helping us bring this vision to life.

Stay tuned for more from this incredible project—we’re just getting started.
