The latest project we decided to tackle on the interior of the Mod Pod was the master bathroom. We discussed taking out walls and creating a new layout before deciding to get just creative enough to keep the ensuite bathroom and make it modern. We first decided to add barn doors to have the ability to close off the space completely.
The next step was removing wallpaper and demoing the baby blue tiled shower and matching toilet. I love the clean look of a subway tile and fell in love with the smaller Yohen Border Tile by Inax in white for this project.
The walls were painted Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore and cabinetry Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams to match the rest of our home. We also brought the engineered hardwoods by Urban Floor into the ensuite bathroom. I love nothing more than taking a look back at the before photos once a project is completed. We were able to take this space from drab to a fabulous modern look to match the rest of our updated home. Check out the before and afters of this space below!
We decided to tile the primary wall behind the sink area with the Yohen Border Tile by Inax which we also used throughout the shower and toilet area. Bringing the tile through the space brought everything together for a cohesive look. We used marble left over from the slab we purchased for our kitchen island as the countertop for Pacific Shore Stones. I chose a simple white sinks and black matte wall mount faucets. One of my favorite additions to the space is our light up mirror! The mirror comes with a silver boarder so we spray painted it gold to match the finishes throughout our home.
I am obsessed with the Mitzi Whit 6 inch Mini Pendant by Mitzi of Hudson Valley Lighting. The pendants bring such a fun element to the space and I am in love with the matte black and gold combo!
We decided to completely demo the shower and toilet section of the master bath. Everything down to the toilet was a baby blue color and extremely dated. We decided to create a large shower oasis with a bench, plants and glass door. We chose a small matte black hex tile for the shower floor and the same Yohen Border Tile by Inax in white for the walls and bench.
We wanted our shower niche to have a very clean look. We styled the shelf with matching black bottles for all of our bath products. I even had custom labels made for each bottle on Etsy!
I love how modern the space looks with the new tile. We chose to go with a light grout to keep a very bright and fresh look. I have seen others use a grey grout which creates a completely different look for the tile which I also love!
If you are looking to renovate a bathroom in your home I highly recommend Yohen Border Tile by Inax. The tile is such a fun twist on a standard subway tile. We could not be happier with the finished look! For more information on our design packages check out the services page and welcome packet on our website!
